INPA The company has 50 years of professional experience in the production and commercialisation of typical Italian - and particularly Tuscan - products: un oil, sweet-and-sour, pickles, Olivess, seafood products and other specialities.

Through our accumulated experience, INPA has reached the highest standards in food production and quality control, and this has been underpinned by constant research for the best raw materials. Over the years the Company has developed its commitment to producing for private labels and has become a close and qualified partner of major distribution chains and the catering industry both within Italy and abroad.

INPA owns three plants covering an area of over 10 000 sq m. The main production plant covers 2500 sq m and is equipped with the most modern production line technology, employing 70 members of staff. Its current turnover is over 25.000.000 euros.

I.N.P.A.’s mission as a producer of preserved food is to achieve customer satisfaction whilst respecting the Hygiene, Health and Safety principles outlined in the Codex Alimentarius, current legislation and customers’ contract specifications. In addtion, the Management of INPA strongly believes in preserving Italy’s gastronomic traditions.

INPA was founded in 1959 by Emilio Innocenti in Vinci, Florence.
The company became IN.PA s.n.c. (a General Partnership) in 1965 with the purchase of its first factory and a few vans which were used for direct delivery to small shops.
In 1972 Emilio’s children, Carlo and Lovania join the Company. The original factory was extended and I.N.P.A. (Industrial Nazionale Prodotti Alimentari) became an S.r.l (Ltd. company). Carlo and Lovania remain today owners of the company.
Between 1987 and 1994 the Company built a completely new production plant in S. Ansano - Vinci (Florence) with brand new production lines and a dedicated chemical lab. Through experience acquired in the sector over these years increasingly tasty and flavoursome recipes were developed, such as the current LUSINGHE and MAREVERDE lines.
In 2009 the Company installed a new production line dedicated to the packaging of pasteurisable trays in ATP suitable for fridge counters. In 2011 the dedicated chemical lab was entirely refurbished

Since its foundation, INPA has been a family-run company with Emilio Innocenti at the helm and other family members at the heart of Management. The success of the company has been the outcome of this strong collaboration between the generations within the family.
The founder Emilio Innocenti, died at the age of 90 years he was still INPA’s sole Director. He was one of that group of entrepeneurs during the years of the Italian economic boom: a group of self-taught people who, armed with intuition, dedication and perhaps blessed with a bit of luck, embarked on the adventure of industrialisation in the 1960s. Emilio started with his wife Franca at the end of the 1950s slicing vegetables and filling jars in a garage and he continues his adventure with his children and grandchildren now that INPA is manufacturing over 25 million jars of product per year across three production plants.

The Quality Control laboratory of INPA born in conjunction with the company's first production craft. Food safety has always been in the DNA of INPA. At the origins of the Quality control was made in a small workshop outside the company, then transferred to the first floor of the old home, and expanded several times. Even now the present location has repeatedly transformed and equipped:

from the first floor, where he was born, we moved to the garrison at ground floor of all incoming goods inspections and just-in-time on production lines. Starting from checks made by the owner in person, qualified for his university studies, has been incorporated since 1980 and already a professional since 1984 and two other chemists, which is still in force at the lab. Since 1995, it operates according to the principles of HACCP in full compliance with the Codex Alimentarius. In 2004, at the new headquarters has entered the first doctor degree in chemistry in 2005 and the first technologist. INPA then has 4 analysts responsible solely to the controls on raw materials, semi-finished product in process and finished product. The workshop is coordinated directly by the Resp. Environment and Quality Management System that is the direction.

Every year we carry out:
  • On raw materials than 14,000 analyzes, including organoleptic tests and sectors.
  • On more than 10,000 semi-finished chemical and physical analysis
  • Product or process in each time you perform chemical analysis and organoleptic properties and product packaging for each product (18,000 determinations)
  • The finished product (after incubation for 15 days in the thermostat) will perform analyzes on all batches produced nearly 35,000 determinations
The analysis of our laboratory are checked monthly by laboratories participating in ring-periodic tests. Our laboratory is the guarantor of traceability over the entire production system using a cutting-edge management that handles lots of materials and the finished product with bar code readers. The spacious rooms and the most modern equipment provided to staff always trained and updated not only ensure the health safety of products but to ensure a standard of quality is constantly monitored beneath an organoleptic (taste and find the flavors of canned Italian) that commodity (in the aspects of presentation and size of the product). Our laboratory takes care of all the equipment and control instruments (ph-meters, scales, vacuum gauges, temperature sensors, etc.) that inventory and coding, and monitoring the maintenance and calibration, both internal and external.

In collaboration with the laboratory R & D processes the first prototypes of recipes and or conservative techniques. The laboratory also has a tasting room where anonymously consumers can test our products and compare them with other, processing the likings of the data base. The Politics of Corporate INPA strongly influences the management of the laboratory, which is also responsible for daily monitoring of the water washing plant, respecting the environment.

Values Environmetal and Quality

Through its Environmental and Quality control policies, INPA is dedicated to obtaining and maintaining compliance with obligatory legislations and, in general, with any and all binding and voluntary commitments undertaken in relation to Environmental matters either directly or indirectly related to the company. INPA’s Environmental and Quality control policies aim to achieve these goals by defining a reasonable performance level for the Environmental Management System, constant improvement of this system and setting an internal and external communication system appropriate to the Company’s current needs.

Through the implementation of the Management System, INPA aims to achieve the following objectives:

  • Understanding the needs of consumers through relevant research and investigation, and, wherever possible, predicting them through the continuous development of new recipes, the improvement of existing recipes and the implementation of new preservation techniques.
  • Making a commitment to improving technical standards through systematic investments in the Production and Logistics Departments and the development of a qualified internal Maintenance Team liaising with all the most significant suppliers.
  • Developing a systematic control of - and a continuous collaboration with - suppliers from harvesting of the raw materials to the delivery of the final finished product. This aims to strengthen our relationships with suppliers, in order to improve the selection of raw materials and services, which are used in the selection of non-GMO raw materials and in the improvement of supplier environmental performance.
  • Guaranteeing traceability from the arrival of raw materials at the production plant to the delivery of the finished product on pallets
  • Product security achieved by performing quality controls across all production stages, verified through chemical, physical, organoleptic and merceologiche analyses performed in an on-site lab (validated by ring test) and an external qualified lab. Highest attention to spaces/areas and equipment cleanliness and hygiene at every production cycle, with additional special care taken regarding productions with special requirements: biological risk, with allergenic contents or productions aimed at Kosher markets.
  • Raising all staff awareness, belief and sense of responsibility concerning the highest safety standards in the work place as well as the environmental requirements related to their actions and operational effectiveness.
  • Continuous training in Health, Safety and hygiene-related aspects of staff roles, in production, maintenance and control activities and in environmental issues directly and/or indirectly related to those activities. 100% compliance with legislation applicable to environmental matters in which the company is involved, including all relevant laws and regulations as well as voluntary agreements entered into with interested parties. Attempting, whenever possible, and in line with Customers’ policies, to reduce our environmental impact in relation to the use of packaging.
  • Respect of the chain where everybody is at the same time both customer and supplier of the best service possible for work colleagues, collaborators and all interested parties. On this matter, INPA guarantees to respond completely and adequately to the company strategies and all interested parties (including the return of raw materials from the field and all voluntary agreements entered into by the company)


  • INPA in 2016 has replaced throughout the company introduced the traditional lamps and LED technology (Light-Emitting Diodes) which represents the new frontier of enlightenment. It is an electronic component that emits an infrared light and ultraviolet free to contact with the current. Its main features are: saving, luminous efficiency, durability and sustainability.

ENVIRONMENT AND ENERGY

INPA has been certified ISO 14001 since 2007. The company has always shown great sensitivity towards environmental issues and is committed to reducing its environmental impact through the implementation of practical projects. Thanks to the help of experts and qualified consultants, INPA has identified specific objectives to be implemented in the short term:

  • Reduction of water consumption
  • Continuous revision of emergency environmental procedures
  • Continuous revision of emergency environmental procedures
  • Optimisation of the use of detergents and sanitisation during the cleaning process
  • Installation of solar panels on the roof of all plants and warehouses
  • Installation of Flower Flame burners to improve energy efficiency
  • Reduction of the use of packaging
  • Investment in the research of 100% recyclable packaging
  • Identification of alternative uses for production by-products

PROPERTY 'HEALTHY NUTRITION

Evaluation of nutritional products aimed at determining the content of the active ingredients characteristic of plant products which are the main elements to play a 'antioxidant in the body.

In the tradition of our company to research and development has always been aimed at preserving the best quality of the products used in manufacture, quality to be understood in particular as maintaining the taste and healthiness of the same. Once expressed its full potential, that allow you to obtain and maintain all the guarantees customer facing, we wondered what further information you could provide to further enhance our products. From time science has identified in plants and foods derived from these substances which, when assimilated by the body, showed special properties "protective". These substances, commonly known as antioxidants, therefore play a protective action against aging in the broad sense. On the basis of these considerations INPA has launched a study to determine the presence and content of these substances in plants that transforms and to make the results of research available to the consumer. We are still developing the project started in 2010 .
